About Us

Quality Country Homes has been building custom homes in Bowral and throughout the surrounding Southern Highlands of NSW since 1986. Quality Country Homes is an independent custom building company owned, operated and established by local builder Jim Sell.

 Jim’s journey in building started over 45 years ago, earning his Carpentry and Joinery apprenticeship in 1981 with credit, followed by a certificate of excellence at Work Skills Australia in 1982. He went on to complete the Builder Foreman and Clerk of Works post-trade certification in 1984; securing his Builder’s Licence in 1985; and founding Quality Country Homes in 1986. In 2015, he was recognised as an Ambassador for NSW TAFE, a reflection of his dedication to mentoring the next generation of builders. Over the years, Quality Country Homes has provided training for many local apprentices, including sons Sebastian and Saxon who have both attained their own Carpentry qualifications and Builders Licenses. Consolidated within the family business they work on site sharing the same commitment to the building trade as Jim.

Quality Country Homes offers a full scope of construction services from traditional to contemporary builds and has a strong commitment to evolving eco-friendly and sustainable practices. We value quality workmanship and client relationships. Specialising in building custom homes ranging from the small to the stately and completing your project with landscape works if required, we collaborate with architects, build to your plans and can personally assist in the design process with you. Every project is personally overseen by Jim, backed by a trusted network of local, qualified, and reliable tradespeople.
